Service Overview

A Conservative Approach to a Brighter Smile

San Diego Bay Dental offers KöR Whitening as part of personalized cosmetic and minimally invasive care. Dr. Madison Brown evaluates your oral health, existing restorations, and goals before recommending a whitening plan.

How Does KöR Whitening Work?

KöR uses peroxide-based whitening gels to break down stain molecules within natural teeth. Its system combines professionally selected gels with custom whitening trays and a treatment plan that may include at-home whitening, in-office whitening, or both.

Whitening changes the color of natural teeth. Crowns, veneers, and fillings do not whiten in the same way, so existing restorations and the causes of discoloration matter when planning treatment. Results vary.

In-Office and At-Home Whitening

In-office care

In-office whitening is performed under professional supervision. Our team protects the soft tissues, applies the selected whitening system, and monitors comfort. Whether an office visit is part of your plan depends on your needs and the protocol recommended for you.

At-home care with custom trays

Custom trays are made to fit your teeth. KöR-Seal trays are designed to limit saliva entering the tray and help keep gel against the teeth. Use the amount of gel and wear schedule our team provides; a whitening tray is different from an Invisalign aligner.

Why Are KöR Gels Refrigerated?

KöR keeps its whitening gels refrigerated through its supply chain to help maintain their chemical stability. Follow the storage instructions supplied with your kit, including refrigeration when directed. Keeping gel cool supports the product’s intended performance; using more gel or wearing trays longer is not a substitute for following your treatment plan.

Sensitivity and Desensitizer Care

Temporary tooth sensitivity and gum irritation can occur with whitening. Tell us about existing sensitivity, exposed roots, cracks, cavities, or gum concerns before starting. We may address these issues first or adjust the whitening approach.

KöR protocols may include a desensitizer to help manage sensitivity. Our team explains how and when to use it and what to do if discomfort develops. A desensitizer does not guarantee that whitening will be sensitivity-free. Contact us if sensitivity persists or feels significant instead of extending treatment on your own.

Whitening with Invisalign: Minimally Invasive Smile Care

For suitable patients, combining Invisalign with whitening can address tooth position and color while preserving natural tooth structure. We plan the sequence around your alignment needs, oral health, and existing restorations. Use whitening products only as directed; do not assume your aligners can replace custom whitening trays.

Is KöR Whitening Right for Me?

An examination helps us identify the cause of discoloration and whether whitening is appropriate. We explain the available options, sensitivity considerations, and how to maintain your smile before you begin. Request a consultation with San Diego Bay Dental in Chula Vista.
